"The
idea is simple. The original plate is superseded by a machined version
that includes an inset 'O-ring', thereby doing away with the need
for a gasket, while the standard screws are replaced by large, easy-to-grip
knurled machine screws which can be loosened and retightened by
hand. After using Speedseal in practice we can confirm that both
modifications do indeed make things less of a fiddle. As evidence
of this, we managed to remove the cover, change the impeller and
replace the cover in less than a minute.
